About My Story

A just few things about me

I moved to Ohio in the fall of 23 and so far I find everything here beautiful and laid back! The People are so nice and welcoming. I plan to retire here. any pointers?

My family in a nutshell- I'm married to my handsome husband Michael for 35 years! I have 2 grown headstrong Kids. A Son and Daughter, whom are both living their best lives on the East Coast. And of course I can’t forget my fur babies, Benny and Roxy.

I drive a Jeep named the "Blue Devil" and the radio station is forever on 80’s music!

I am a second shooter for Weddings and Events

My favorite color is Brown although my Husband swears it’s black! 

I could drink coffee all day...I know

I love everything Chocolate! Except Reeses Peanut Butter Cups! That’s just wrong! 

Music - YES! You’ll never see me working without it

Other hobbies - Bowling and anything to do with exploring new cities  

Charities close to my heart - Anything local that has to do with helping Military Veterans 

My Favorite all time movie is the Matrix!

My perfect weekend? Ordering DoorDash and watching a RomCom on Netflix with the Hubby. 

If I’m unavailable during the winter, it’s probably because I’m hibernating. I do not like being cold!

What are your hours?

Because I work a full time job my hours are as follows:

Monday-Friday 5 pm - End of shoot

Saturdays 10 am - 5 pm

Sundays - By appointment only

Where are you located?

Cincinnati. 
But will travel up to a certain distance for a small fee.

Do you accept reservations?

Of course! 
Just reach out to me either by email or text and we’ll set up a time that’s convenient for you.

What payment options do you accept?

How long is the typical wait?

Depending on the type of Session, turnaround time is usually a 2 to 3 week timeframe. Most likely, sooner.

Something I brag on myself about how I really stay on top of editing. It a driving force and i never want anyone to wait. Most regular shoots will have their gallery delivered to them within one week. Busy seasons can sometime prevent that, but I will let you know ahead of time if I do not think I will have them back to you pronto.

What if I’m not photogenic?

You will change your mind about that after our session. All you have to do is be yourself, focus, and I will do the rest!

What happens if weather doesn’t cooperate?

I will work around weather as best I can. Usually I don’t shoot in rain or snow, but cold,  wind and sunshine is my thing. We can add umbrellas, boots, or warm fuzzy blankets to your styling if it’s needed. Sometimes it’s actually super easy to get those sweet, emotive images when it’s cold out and your kids are willing to snuggle with you in a blanket.


If you have a tiny baby, or aren’t the type to play in the rain, we will attempt to reschedule. If rescheduling isn’t an option, we will find a cute, cozy studio to shoot your session in. (Studio rental fees vary, but we will find one together.

What should we wear?

Your session comes with a consultation where we will discuss styling tips and advice based on your session, the weather, and our shooting location. I will be there to guide you through every outfit.

Where does the session take place?

I will personally help you choose a location that is incredibly beautiful, safe and  appropriate for your session. Locations like Downtown Charlotte and a number of creeks, rivers, lakes, or other state and national parks are used ofte.

Where should I print my photos?

With me! I work with professional labs that are perfect with the color profile in which I shoot. When ordering prints through consumer grade labs such as shutterfly, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Costco etc. You never now what you will get back. The colors are usually WAY off and the prints are low quality. I offer many options for wall art, albums and prints, and they will always look amazing!

Do you deliver every image you shoot?

No way! I shoot like a crazy person. When I get home, I painstakingly go through the session and pick out only the best images for you to make your final choices on. I will send you a gallery of your un-edited images within a 2 weeks, you will pick the ones you want, and ONLY those images will be edited and delivered.

Do you have a Cancellation Policy?

BOOKING PAYMENT & CANCELLATION POLICY

BOOKING: For all sessions; a non-fundable session retainer is required to book and hold the date for your session and serves as a cancellation fee. However, the fee can be credited towards a future session upon the photographers approval. All remaining balances are due at the time of the session.

CANCELLATION POLICY: For portrait sessions, client forefeits their session retainer paid to book the session. As previously stated, the fee can be credited towards a future session if the client reschedules the appointment by calling 72 hours prior to the date of session and re-booking at an agreeable date and time.

If for any reason the Client cancels before their scheduled date, the Photographer will keep the the session retainer fee paid to hold the date as a cancellation fee. Cancellations must be sent in writing, by mail or e-mail. However, if the client requires to change the date, I will do my best to accommodate the change and no fee will be charged as long as the new date is available and within five(5) months of the original event date.  If I am not available for the new date, the original contract will be cancelled and subject to the cancellation policy.

If Vanessa Geise Photography cannot perform this Contract due to fire or other casualty, strike, act of God, or other cause beyond the control of the parties, or due to Photographer’s illness or emergency, then the Photographer shall return the retainer fee to the Client but shall have no further liability with respect to the Contract. This limitation on liability shall also apply in the event that photographic materials are damaged in processing, lost through camera or other media malfunction, lost in the mail, or otherwise lost or damaged without fault on the part of the Photographer.
